Let me show you how this is all going to take place....
First let’s take a look at what super-villain we are going against. What is the most common plague in America these days? It’s not that hard of an answer, in fact I bet half of your family members have been affected by this deadly plague. So what is this ever so-fast growing plague? Obesity— the ugliest of all the social-super-villains’.
What exactly is obesity? Obesity is simply increased body weight caused by excessive accumulation of fat.
“What’s the big deal about obesity anyway? “I mean if I’m fat, I’m fat, oh well it’s my body I can be whatever shape I want to be!”
While that is a sad statement, it is very true. I hear it all the time. The problem is that, while you “can be whatever shape you want to be” it does affect more people then you think.
Did you know by you being obese you will most likely die prematurely? This will not only mean that you won’t live to see your children/grandchildren get through school, marriage, etc…, it also means that your precious loved ones will have to deal with a death that you very well could of prevented. To think that you don’t care what shape you’re in….urgggg!
In addition to dieing from obesity, I listed several other illnesses brought on by obesity too. Some are as follows:
Diabetes
Diabetes has been reported to occur at a rate of 16 to 26 percent in black Americans, aged 45 to 74, compared with 12 percent in whites of the same age.
Cancer
Obesity appears to contribute to the higher risk of pancreatic cancer among black Americans than among whites, particularly for women.
Heart Disease
Among African Americans, the high prevalence of obesity and obesity-related conditions such as hypertension and type 2 diabetes, are factors reported to contribute to their high death rate from coronary heart disease.
Hypertension
The high prevalence of obesity is reported to be a contributing factor to the high prevalence of hypertension in minority populations, especially among African Americans who have an earlier onset and run a more severe course of hypertension.
Behavioral Risk Factors Diet & Exercise
Cultural factors related to dietary choices, physical activity, and acceptance of excess weight among African Americans and other racial-ethnic groups, appear to play a role in interfering with weight loss efforts.
African Americans and whites report that they exercise less as they get older, however, African American women of all ages report participating in less regular exercise than white women.
African American men, age 45 and older, report less regular exercise than white women.
What Can I Do?
If you are like every good hearted American that I know, your jaw probably dropped after learning everything you just read. It can be very overwhelming to know that YOU can put an end to all of this obesity crap. Once and for all.
Here is the short game plan of what you will do.
1. Find as many willing participants as you can.
2. Have each one pay a small fee.
3. Send them to http://www.ChristianHealthandFitness.com to find free fitness tips that will help them. You will find very insightful information regarding fitness and weight loss.
4. Set a start and finish date.
5. Track the weight loss of each participant. Whoever loses the most weight is the winner; the winner gets the jack pot.
6. Pat your self on the back; you just helped your town shed hundreds of pounds of fat.
