I Am New To Weight Loss & Need Help!
I Have Decided to Lose Weight... The Right Way with
Diet & Exercise.
How should I start?
What exercises do I do?
Any other general fitness tips?
"Man without a vision will perish"
"My people perish for a lack of wisdom"
"When going to war seek the multitude of counsel"
These 3 quotes are straight
from the Holy Bible.
Though they are referring to spiritual topics, the principles can easily
be transferred to the fight against fat.
1. Vision- Take some time and imagine what you want
to look like.
Why do you want to look like that? List all the reasons.
Now list the reasons why you HAVE to change your physical health.
Set a goal date and within your big goal, set up little goals or mile
markers.
Don’t ever get discouraged if you don’t lose 20 pounds in
the first month. Please remember the old fable of the tortes and the hare.
The tortes won not due to his speedy start, but for his perseverance,
dedication and his consistency.
Post your vision where you can visibly see it on a daily basis. I actually
made a poster board with cutouts of pictures and words that describe my
vision. This “vision board hangs in my bedroom above my dresser.
2. My people perish for lack of wisdom.
Even when we have a vision, if the steps you plan on taking to reach
your goal are not wise you will fail.
If you plan to starve yourself in attempt to lose weight, you will undoubtly
fail.
If you plan to hit the gym 10 times a week, you will most likely fail
and get hurt.
Make a wise choice when planning your fitness program; seek the help
of a fitness professional.
That leads me to number 3.
3. When going to war, seek the multitude of counsel.
Ask trainers and nutritionists for help.
Buy a few books, READ THEM after you buy them, don't just let them rot
away on the shelf.
There are tons of free informational articles out here on the internet,
make sure the info you get is backed by a trainer. I have scourged through
thousands of articles and books over the years, sadly, most of them are
CRAP. Be careful not to believe everything you read. Just because it was
posted on a website does it become a “required reading”.
